Data import

Bring your customer records and their objects over from Excel or your previous software. Upload a CSV file, map the columns, check the preview and import. Customers and objects already in the application are not duplicated.

01What it is

Data import reads customers and their objects from a CSV file: one row is a customer and, optionally, their object. The file can be up to 5 MB, 5,000 rows and 60 columns, and the first row holds the column headers.

A customer already in the application (same tax ID, email or phone) is not duplicated. An object is recognised by its object number, or without one by its name and address for the same customer.

Nothing reaches the database before you confirm. The import does not grant customers marketing consents, because we do not know whether they gave them.

CUSTOMERS WITH OBJECTS
One file row is a customer and their object.
PREVIEW BEFORE SAVING
The first 50 rows and the number of errors.
NO DUPLICATES
Existing customers and objects are not duplicated.

02What it is for

Start without retyping

Your whole record of customers and buildings from the previous software in minutes.

No mess

Duplicate customers and objects are skipped.

By the rules

You mark marketing consents on the customer card, not by import.

03Main options

The import has two steps: uploading the file and mapping columns with a preview.

Bring your records from a file

The first step of the import.

  • CSV file up to 5 MB and at most 5,000 rows
  • In Excel: Save as, then CSV; the first row holds the headers
  • Download file template with a ready column layout

04Tasks step by step

  1. STEP 1Export customers and objects to a CSV file. You can follow the file from the Download file template button.
  2. STEP 2Open Settings › Data import and upload the file.
  3. STEP 3Check the column mapping, correct it if needed and choose Refresh preview.
  4. STEP 4Check the Rows with errors tile. Every customer needs a phone or an email, and a row with an error is skipped entirely.
  5. STEP 5Choose Import data. After the import you go to the customer list.
