01What it is
A requirement is a material order with the Needed status: you know what is missing, but you have not placed the order yet. Requirements and Orders are the same register; the Requirements screen opens it with the Needed filter already set.
A requirement belongs to a project or goes to stock, with no project. The supplier can be left as to be decided. You add items from the catalogue or enter them manually, with a catalogue number and a quantity.
While the status is Needed, people with finance access collect offers from several suppliers on the Offers tab. The application marks the cheapest and the fastest, and the chosen offer sets the supplier and the delivery date.
